Once upon a time, we decided it would be very funny if we posted fake personal ads featuring insane and ugly women, just to see how low we could set the bar before men would stop biting.

Don't fall out of your hammock when I tell you: "very, very low."

Both of these profiles had numerous respondents.

Meet "Katja"

Her personal ad, verbatim: You like the woman liek me? hELLO! Mine name is Katja. I have been travelled to the United of States for 3 mounths that this time. I no a little English but I get better? Looking for man with strong lands and treats me like the sunshine. I used to help the stumps out of the dirt in Ukraine, but I still look like the girl! I have not been with boys in while, and I not feel man for many times.

"Katja" got something like 50 messages in the first week. We decided that we should change tactics and came up with:

"Maria"

Her personal ad, verbatim: Who smells like pasta? I do! I luv 2 cook Italian! The noodles are good with butter, and I want to share some salad with you! Anyway, when I'm not down at the shelter, I practice dance and call my family. I like long TV shows, winter, and my sales. I collect collectables one at a time, especially sweaters. I can't wear them, though, cause my ears. i don't go out much, but I'm trying to do it more. I like men who have work boots and don't mind cleaning the mailbox, as they say. I guess I'm a traditonal girl. If you bring the noodles and romaine, I'll cook them up and toss the salad! Hear from you soon!

Despite "Maria" being somewhat frightening and batshit insane, she still got 6 messages in the weeks we had her up.

So we punched up her photo a bit:
